In the mountains of North Carolina, there's this nice little place called Buck Creek. One of my favorite camping spots. Buck Creek is a small mountain stream, and at night, the sounds of the creek just lull you right to sleep! Never a problem sleeping next to Buck Creek, it's La-La Land for sure! Better than any sleeping pill.

Since I liked the place so much, I recorded the sounds of the creek for myself, in high fidelity, 44.1 kHz, 16 bit stereo sound. I happened to mention the recordings to a neighbor, and uploaded the files for him. I have left those same files in place for you to download for free. These are great to cover up the sounds you DON'T want to hear when you're sleeping - I use it all the time! So I offer them here, for your own sleeping pleasure, just download direct from the following links.

These are two different MP3 sound files, not two or three minute clips, each file is over an hour and a half long. And the better your speakers are, the better they will sound.

This is what we’ve been using and we really like it. Neat, clean, easy to use, and it’s REALLY been effective. These are a great preventive for silverfish. Put one or two packets [ directions on rear of package ] in each box you store away in your attic, or even in your bedroom closets.

This is an old-fashioned remedy, I remember my grandmother using these, and I'm OLD! It is a special formulation of boric acid, packed and made especially for silverfish. This is a very effective product when used in this context. When servicing our customers experiencing a silverfish problem, we make sure they have a supply of these!

DeltaDust is reputed to be the world’s first and only waterproof dust. It works, even in damp, or wet places. It is labeled for a wide variety of insects and does work very well where the site of application is suspected of getting wet. It is NOT good for stinging insects, however.

Drione dust is pyrethrum and silica gel. They also use a synergist, piperonyl butoxide, to make the pyrethrum more effective. It has a "flushing effect" by agitating insects and flushing them quickly from their hiding places. The silica gel acts as a desiccant which kills insects by drying them out.

These glueboards are just what they say. They are made from cardboard, with an application of pressure-sensitive glue to trap mice when they step on them. A bit macabre, maybe, but usually very effective. For use with mice, follow the same directions as on the [ Mouse Trap Placement ] page. They can also be used effectively for insects too, and are great "detectors," giving you a good idea of what insects inhabit the areas where they have been placed. They usually don't work too well on larger rodents (rats) because rats are very shy and will avoid any new objects in their territory until they're sure they feel safe.

This ain't no stinkin' pansy-type dust mask. This is a standard-issue, use and throw away gas mask with a life of 40 hours. It is the exact same one that I use when I have to use one. Manufactured by 3M to conform to the 42 CFR 84 specification, it means that it can be safely used for non-oil paint spray and pesticide applications. It comes in it's own zip-lock storage bag and adjusts for almost anyone - unless you have an especially big head.

Tri-Die Temporarily Unavailable
Tri-Die is a special aerosol formulation of pyrethrins, silica and piperonyl butoxide in a pressurized 8-ounce aerosol can. We supply each can with two different and specific six-inch long injection straws, since you'll be mostly using it as a ‘crack and crevice’ device. One straw is for straight injection, the other straw has a four-way flush tip.

As far as the ingredients are concerned, the pyrethrins are actually extracts, made from the chrysanthemum flower, a botanical chemical in use for thousands of years. The silica component, (silica dioxide) is a form of common sand and the piperonyl butoxide is a synergizer that makes pyrethrins “work” better. Thus, the “Tri-Die” name.
